Breeding research

Research is essential for breeding new, innovative varieties. In scientific projects and cooperations new approaches are created for the breeding targets quality, yield and yield stability.

The main milestone in breeding high quality oilseed rape is the “Göttinger Arbeitskreis” initiated by Prof. Röbbelen of University Göttingen in the 1960s. This study group started the elimination of erucic acid and glucosinolates and thus established oilseedrape as a major cultivar of modern agriculture.

NPZ-Lembke is working in various national and international research networks. In cooperations with breeding companies, scientific partners and the processing industry the following topics are covered:
